Great Quotes from the Past Week

I must admit that I love a good quote.  Some of the greatest wisdom is often encapsulated in so few words.  It is an art form that I cannot lay claim to.  Anyone who knows me will tell you that i have never been accused as being "a man of few words".  I think Verbosity should have been my middle name.

Here are some of the best quotes that I have read/heard over the past several days.  I particularly like Norman Vincent Peale's quote for this week. What one strikes you?

"Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Focus on the task at hand. Think about what you are doing rather than what you're not getting done. Worry and time have an inverse relationship. The more you have of one, the less you have of the other. Both are suspended when you simply focus on what is in front of you right now." - Marcus Buckingham

"It takes half your life before you discover life is a do-it-yourself project." - Norman Hill

"The very first step to building wealth is to spend less than you make." - Brian Koslow

"In prosperity our friends know us; in adversity we know our friends." - John Churton Collins, critic

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

"Throw back the shoulders, let the heart sing, let the eyes flash, let the mind be lifted up, look upward and say to yourself...Nothing is impossible!"  Norman Vincent Peale

"Go not where the path may lead.  Go where there is no path and blaze a trail for others to follow."  Muriel Strode

"Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were." - Cherie Carter-Scott

"Our souls are not hungry for fame, comfort, wealth or power. Our souls are hungry for meaning." - Harold Kushner

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive." - Harold Whitman
